AIRBRUSH NAIL ART (IN BOX)

 

1. Airbrush Nail Art entry must consist of a set of 5 individual manufacturer tips. The length must be no longer than 2” (5,08 cm) in length and no wider than 3/4” (1,9 cm) if they were flattened out. Tips must graduated in size. The shape of the tips can be any, but the same on all nails. Tips must remain individual and not be secured to one another. The design may encompass all 5 tips as a picture, but tips must remain individual.

2. Entries must be presented on a flat surface, one color, no texture, no mirror. The five tips must be fastened on this surface. The size of the mounting surface have to be a maximum of 6 inches (15,24 cm) wide by 8 inches (20,32 cm) deep by ¼ (0,635 cm) tall

3. The original color of the tips does not matter. Each tip may have a different color, the coating should be solid, applying of colors must be done with airbrush only.

4. All work must be done by airbrushing ONLY. Gel paint hand painting or acrylic hand painting is absolutely NO. Stamping of any type is NOT allowed.

5. The type of airbrushing you do as well as the colors you use are also your choice.  You may use as many or few colors for airbrush. Metallic and shiny colors for paint are allowed. You can use any type of airbrush paint.

6. Your Airbrush application should be completely smooth and clean.

7. The surface of the tips must be flush; NO raised surfaces.

8. You can use any type of top coat. Top coat or UV gel sealant may be used but must NOT contain any glitter.

9. NO Copyrighted art is allowed at any time. Penalties will be given at judges’ discretion and possible disqualification may be incurred.

10. Airbrush Nail Art will be judged in the following categories: originality, visual interest, color, presentation, balance, design, detail, overall impression, complexity, workmanship, airbrush technique, tip length & shape and theme.

11. Any Airbrush design that wins, or has already won, first place at a NAILPRO competition cannot be reused by the winner or copied by other competitors in subsequent NAILPRO competitions. The NAILPRO competition staff reserves the right to disqualify any design it considers too similar to a winning design. Any discussion with the NAILPRO competition staff about designs will be held in strict confidence.

Originality – 5 Points

 

  • The design is innovative (new and original)

  • The design is unique (different from other designs we have seen in the past and is different from other entries)

  • The design original and outstanding

 

Visual Interest – 10 Points

 

  • The design captures your attention

  • The design holds your attention

  • The design continues to draw your attention to new details

 

Color – 10 Points

 

  • The colors enhance the design

the colors complement each other

  • The colors are in keeping with the theme

 

Presentation – 5 Points

 

  • This entry is presented within the Airbrush Nail Art Rule Guidelines

  • This entry is presented as if it is a special piece of art

  • Care was taken to make this

  • Presentation neat and clean

  • Written statement is included and is complete and understandable

 

JUDGE 2

 

Balance – 5 Points

 

  • Various elements of the design are well-balanced, neither too sparse or too busy

  • The sum of the design is in harmony with the parts of the whole design

  • The design is balanced across all nails

 

Design – 10 Points

 

  • The design enhances the theme

  • The design is well thought out

  • The design is complete and no improvement is needed

 

Detail – 10 Points

 

  • The detail is clean and precise

  • The detail enhances the design

  • The design has adequate detail

 

Overall Impression – 10 Points

 

  • The design makes an excellent overall impression

  • The design is complete and no improvement is needed

  • The theme is easy to follow as a complete picture

  • All rules were followed including usage of ONLY airbrush

 

JUDGE 3

 

Complexity – 10 Points

 

  • The design is challenging, demanding skill and effort

  • The design involves multiple techniques

  • The complexity of the design is clear

 

Workmanship – 10 Points

 

  • The overall quality of the work demonstrates outstanding artistic skills

  • The workmanship is neat, clean and precise

  • The workmanship is equally balanced across all nail

 

Tip Length – 5 Points

 

  • The tips are graduated in length or size and are separate and individual

  • The tip length is no longer than 2″ (5,08sm)

  • The tip width is no wider than 3/4 of an inch (5,08 sm) if flattened out

 

Theme – 10 Points

 

  • The theme is obvious and completely developed

  • The theme is continued on all 5 nails

  • The theme is complete and no improvement is needed

 

Airbrush technique – 10 Points

 

  • The technique of the airbrushing is clean and crisp the pattern of the airbrush enhances

  • The design and is balanced

  • The airbrush pattern is deliberate and precise

  • The airbrush pattern is clean and complete
